ECA Contractor of the Year 2020/21 (turnover £60 million)


Geoffrey Robinson Limited are pleased to announce that we won a second, and consecutive prestigious ECA (Electrical Contractors Association) Award at an Award ceremony held at the London Hilton Bankside Hotel on 22nd October 2021.

The Awards recognise the highest electrical UK engineering standards, and are open to all members of the ECA to apply.

Within our submission there was high recognition of the fast track works our electrical team have undertaken during the COVID pandemic period, including the NHS Nightingale Hospital, a new CT scanner facility at James Cook University Hospital and design and installation of a Track and Trace facility to construct the Integrated Covid Hub North East (ICHNE).

This year we won the ECA Contractor of the Year 2020/21 (up to £60 million); Our previous award was for Partnering.

The award ceremony was presented by Steph McGovern, the well-known British Journalist and TV Presenter, who herself in a native of the North East, being Middlesbrough born and breed, and a former “Young Engineer of the Year”

Both Geoffrey and Neal Robinson are grateful for the outstanding works that Jim Smithson and his team has undertaken over the years. Jim joined us in 2004 and has been instrumental in the growth and development of our electrical division, which now comprised of over 40 directly employed electricians, from Director level, Senior Project Managers, Approved Electricians, Electricians and Apprentices.
