We’re celebrating a triple success at the 2026 BESA Industry Awards, having been shortlisted in three categories recognising our business, project delivery and one of our rising stars.
Geoffrey Robinson has been named a finalist for Contractor of the Year – over £5 million, Project of the Year – over £500,000 and BSE Apprentice of the Year.
The Contractor of the Year shortlist recognises the strength of Geoffrey Robinson as a business and our continued commitment to delivering high-quality mechanical and electrical engineering projects.
Alongside continued growth and the delivery of increasingly significant and complex schemes, we continue to invest in the systems, skills and people needed to maintain the highest standards of quality, safety and delivery.
Our Project of the Year shortlist shines a spotlight on the expertise, collaboration and commitment behind one of our standout schemes – the Emergency Maternity Theatre and Robotic Surgery Suite, delivered on behalf of University Hospital of North Tees.
The project brought together our construction, mechanical and electrical expertise to deliver specialist engineering services within a highly complex healthcare environment, where quality, precision and collaboration were critical.
It’s a fantastic achievement for everyone involved, and a great reflection of the expertise and commitment of the team who delivered the works.
While the Contractor of the Year and Project of the Year shortlists recognise the strength of our business and project delivery, the BSE Apprentice of the Year shortlist represents something especially important to us – our commitment to recognising, developing and investing in our people.
Joshua Prescott-Sobanski, Apprentice Mechanical Estimator in our Manchester office, has been shortlisted for BSE Apprentice of the Year, following a period of exceptional development both professionally and personally.
Josh’s progress over the past three years has been recognised both inside and outside Geoffrey Robinson. His college tutors describe him as “a model student”, highlighting his positive attitude, professionalism and knowledge, as well as the significant personal transformation they have seen during his studies.
His development in the workplace has been just as impressive, with Josh taking on increasing responsibility and building the technical knowledge and confidence needed to progress his career in mechanical estimating.
For Geoffrey Robinson, that is exactly what an apprenticeship should be about – creating an opportunity, investing in someone’s development and giving them the support and responsibility to grow.
Josh’s shortlist is a fantastic recognition of how far he has come and a proud moment for everyone who has supported him along the way.
This announcement comes in a particularly significant year for us, as we recently celebrated 50 years of membership with BESA.
For five decades, our partnership with BESA has provided access to industry-leading technical guidance, training, safety frameworks and best practice, while connecting Geoffrey Robinson with a wider community committed to raising standards across building engineering services.
These three shortlists are a fantastic recognition of where Geoffrey Robinson is today – and the people who will help shape where we go next.
