Geoffrey Robinson has been appointed principal contractor for vital façade remedial works at the Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital (NSECH) in Cramlington.
The £12.5 million project, which commenced in March, aims to rejuvenate the exterior of the building, with works including the replacement of the existing insulation and render, breathing new life into the structure.
Following a successful trial exercise to assess the viability and impact of the proposed works, Billingham-based contractor Geoffrey Robinson was appointed the works, underscoring the company’s expertise in delivering complex construction projects within live healthcare environments.
The comprehensive programme will include:
- removal of the existing render system and polystyrene insulation.
- provision of a new mineral fibre insulated render system
- new silicon render resin finish.
The project has been carefully designed to ensure minimal disruption to NSECH operations.
Geoffrey Robinson’s experienced team will work closely with Northumbria Healthcare Facilities Management to maintain the hospital’s critical care services while prioritising the safety and wellbeing of staff, patients, and visitors.
