The overall Project included the supply and installation of the following services.

The scheme designed by DSSR in Harrogate was for the site wide upgrade from steam to LTHW wherever possible.

Our scope of work therefore was for the removal of the old CHP engine and two of the old steam boilers and for replacement with 3 New Hovel 5.5MW LTHW dual fuel boilers and a new CHP engine.

Site wide distribution was by means of a Durotan pre-insulated pipe work system running to plate heat exchangers in each of the remote plant rooms along with all necessary controls upgrades.  All satellite plant rooms were kept live throughout the construction period meaning the hospital was never without heating and hot water.

A late addition to the contract was for the upgrade of the site wide HV & LV cables and Switchgear.

New flues, pumps controls and pipe work were provider within the Energy Centre along with a new steel gantry and walkway to access all high level equipment.

All builders work was undertaken by GRL and relevant sub-contractors.

As part of the overall scheme a new CHP engine was installed by EnerG with all pipe work flues and gas connections being undertaken by GRL.

The project was delivered on time, to budget and to clients’ specification and satisfaction.
